Succession & Trust Litigation
Unfortunately, there is more litigation involving families than the public is aware of, in the parent’s succession(with a will and without a will) for example or the trust established by the parent. There are generally two factors. First the parents or a parent has passed and the deceased parents or parent was the referee maintaining peace between the children. When that referee is gone, then emotional issues long suppressed surface and the child (could be 50 years old at the time of the dispute) who feels wronged or slighted years ago wants to create a dispute to cause difficulty for his or her siblings and sometimes the surviving parent. The second factor is money. We have represented succession representatives, trustees as well as the siblings who now find themselves dragged into a dispute by their disgruntled sibling.
